Peer Parent – Weber, Davis, Cache Valley, Morgan, Box Elder, Rich Counties
Provide in-home peer parenting education and hands-on instruction to families to prevent and alleviate the risks of child abuse and neglect, strengthen the family unit, and increase life skills. Applicants must be 21 years old to apply. One-year experience working with children and a valid driver’s license is required for this position. Kids Zone Aide
Kids Zone Aide
The Kids Zone Aide will provide attentive, nurturing child care according to the Family Support Center policies and licensing requirements. Ensure the children’s basic needs are met through preparing and serving nutritious snacks and meals, direct interaction and close supervision of each child, planning and implementing individual/group/child activities, positive behavior management, age-appropriate needs such as bathing, bedtimes/naptimes, and changing diapers. Must be 18 years old to apply.
Adoption Respite Aide
Adoption Respite Aide
The Kids Zone Adoption Respite Aide will provide attentive, nurturing child care according to the Family Support Center policies and licensing requirements. Ensure the children’s basic needs are met through preparing and serving nutritious snacks and meals, direct interaction and close supervision of each child, planning and implementing individual/group/child activities, positive behavior management, age-appropriate needs such as bathing, bedtimes/naptimes, and changing diapers. Children that have been adopted through foster care and their siblings, whether biological or foster attend Adoption Respite. Must be 20 years old to apply.
Parenting Class Facilitator
Parenting Class Facilitator
The Class Facilitator provides support and assistance to clients in the areas of engagement, resources, service delivery and education providing best practices in working with families. The Family Support Center provides both parenting class and Step-family class. Classes are typically in the evenings. Age groups vary from 6 years old to adults.
Youth Development Facilitator
Youth Development Facilitator
The Youth Development Facilitator provides support and assistance to clients in the areas of engagement, resources, service delivery and education providing best practices in working with families. The Youth Development classes are for children ages 3-11 years old that typically have behavioral issues and/or have experienced trauma.
AmeriCorps
The AmeriCorps member in this role will serve as the AmeriCorps Administrative Specialist with the Ogden Family Support Center, focusing on capacity building in fundraising, grant writing, and implementation strategy. This dynamic role requires a commitment of 14 hours per week, collaborating directly with the executive director and core leadership to enhance the organization’s development capacity. Internship opportunities are available by providing parenting education, administrative tasks, community projects and youth development. Volunteer
Volunteers at the Family Support Center can participate in a variety of ways including providing child care and basic day-to-day functions in the Kids Zone, Parenting Education, Administrative tasks, outdoor clean-up, diaper drives, etc. We gladly accept donations of children’s clothing and shoes, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items and diapers that are passed directly to our families.
